Dale Williamson

Dale was raised in country Tasmania in a landscape of water, islands and blue-grey hills.

Dale completed an honours degree in Psychology as part of an Arts degree that also included Ancient History.

After a Bachelor of Education at the University of Melbourne she taught Psychology, History and English in the Victorian Secondary School system for thirty years. Since retirement she has completed a Diploma of Art at RMIT Tafe followed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT University finishing in 2012.
An overseas exchange to the University of Newcastle in the United Kingdom led to questions about national identity and the relationship of Australians to land. This interest continues to grow and fuels a fascination with issues of Australian identity, history, justice and landscape.

Art, particularly contemporary, but also 14th to 17century Art, are major obsessions, as well as music, literature, archaeology and travel. Ideas and questions are a central part of life so tutoring at U3A is a return to the world of communication and challenge. Learning is for life and it is a wonderful thing to share with others.
