Let's Do Groups
Special interest social groups include Let's Do Lunch, Let's Do Music, Let's do Movies, Let's Do Galleries, Let's Do Theatre, Let's Do Walks, and Let's Do Cycling. To register for any of these groups, U3A Melbourne City members should log-on to MyU3A or ring/email the office.
Members are welcome and encouraged to make suggestions for activities or to volunteer to run a group.
Let's Do Cycling
Coordinators: Steve Milton & Jan Norman
A group, run by two experienced and fit cyclists, which gets together on Thursday mornings. Medium level fitness required for rides (about 2hours, 25km round trips) which are mainly flat with one or two hill climbs to get the heart pumping.
Let's Do Lunch
Coordinator: Rosemary Ryall
This group gets together on a monthly basis to sample a range of different cuisines at affordable prices.
Let's Do Music
Coordinator: Peter Caldwell
This group of music-lovers meets regularly for coffee or a drink before attending a concert at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
Let's Do Movies
Coordinator: Mimi Miller
An informal social gathering that meets weekly on a Tuesday at the Como in South Yarra to see and discuss a movie, and then have lunch afterwards.
Let's Do Museums, Galleries and Cultural Events
Coordinators: Sharon Carter & Margaret Wyatt
This group is for those who have an interest in exploring Melbourne's heritage and contemporary art spaces. It meets on a Thursday each month and then everyone is invited for afternoon tea to discuss what we have seen. An email in advance sets out our rolling 3-month program so that you can diarise in advance. Some events will require prepayment through the office to secure your place.
Let's Do Theatre
Coordinator: Shirley Mason & Anne Cobham
This group is for those interested in going to the theatre.
Let's Do Walks
Coordinator: Margaret Wyatt
The walks will be weekly on Tuesday mornings from 10am-11.30am. After the walk there will be optional coffee. The walks are simply that ...a walk, to enjoy the exercise mainly and also the surroundings.
All walks will be close to the city.
